Half a sentence, and it gets through. Someone who chases the same ideal with the same heat. But a small party does not need two leaders.
ENFJ × ENFJ is the Identity relation, one of the sixteen. Half a sentence, and it gets through.
Written as ENFJ × ENFJ it is the same pair. In 16Personalities terms, the Protagonist and the Protagonist.
Strongly bound by ideals and convictions. Political leader and aide, master and comrade in a doctrine, director and actress. One serves the ideal for the other's sake; the other serves only the ideal.
In terms of the mechanism, the "emotion that moves the room" in ENFJ's first position and the "intuition that reads the flow" in the second sit in exactly the same positions in the other. The view you are best at, the other is best at too. So no explanation is needed, and so no new perspective comes from the other either. The strong places overlap, and do not double.
In the old observations, in identity the same elements of both act in the same positions, and a complete, painless repulsion arises. Since no words are needed, there is also nothing the other can hand you. For these two, practical matters and care of the body are absent on both sides.
The observation says the alliance is firm while convictions are in step, and splits the moment one gains standing and demands equality.
One play does not need two directors.
"Without me, you would have been nobody." Each attributes the other's success to their own influence, blames the other's obvious faults, and does not see the shared blind spot.
The empty places are the same too. The "sensing that keeps the body in order" ENFJ wants most is what the other wants most, and neither has it. The "force that pushes through", which each produces with a little effort, takes a little effort from both. What flows in silently between duals never flowed between these two in the first place.
The house does not run. One makes light of the effort of housework; the other resents creative time being taken by chores. Warnings about who around them can be trusted never stop, and each thinks they can see well enough themselves.
In the end, realising the relationship is a burden and that they hinder each other, it takes the form of friends at a neutral distance.
The same ideal, with the same heat.
Bound by conviction.
You want to serve at their side.
"Without me", they say.
They make light of the household.
"That person cannot be trusted", they say, constantly.
She served the ideal for his sake; he served only the ideal. While their convictions were in step it was a firm alliance, the record says.
A case where, from the moment the woman gained influence and standing, refused second place and demanded equality, it turned into blaming each other's faults.
The observation: realising that the relationship was a burden and that they were hindering each other, they continued as friends at a neutral distance.
Martin Luther King Jr. (EIE) × Malcolm X (EIE)
Typing: both types agree across several published sources
Two leaders of the same movement. They criticised each other fiercely over policy and met face to face only once. Late in life their positions drew closer, but they never became one party.
What matches: a small party cannot hold two leaders; while the ideals are in step, an alliance.
