Half a sentence, and it gets through. Someone who sees the world through the same logic. But each is waiting for warmth.
INTJ × INTJ is the Identity relation, one of the sixteen. Half a sentence, and it gets through.
Written as INTJ × INTJ it is the same pair. In 16Personalities terms, the Architect and the Architect.
Definitions, structure, consistency. You catch on the same contradiction with the same precision. Bound by shared interests, quietly deep at first.
In terms of the mechanism, the "logic that carries reasoning through" in INTJ's first position and the "eye that opens possibilities" in the second sit in exactly the same positions in the other. The view you are best at, the other is best at too. So no explanation is needed, and so no new perspective comes from the other either. The strong places overlap, and do not double.
In the old observations, in identity the same elements of both act in the same positions, and a complete, painless repulsion arises. Since no words are needed, there is also nothing the other can hand you. For these two, emotional warmth and the power to create a mood are absent on both sides.
The observation says both expect passionate warmth from the other, and both are disappointed by the other's coldness.
Where identity is most useful is in learning. If a senior of the same type has walked the same road ahead of you, their experience can be used as it is. The observations too say repeatedly that it lasts long as mentor and pupil or with a difference in age. Only when two equal INTJs do the same thing in the same place does the repulsion described above arise.
Two contemplative philosophers, each asserting the way of life that suits them.
Housework does not begin from feeling. Both dislike care out of duty and define fairness to suit themselves. Citing income and workload to claim exemption, and seeing the other's self-protection as selfishness and proof of the absence of love.
The empty places are the same too. The "emotion that warms the room" INTJ wants most is what the other wants most, and neither has it. The "sensing that keeps the body in order", which each produces with a little effort, takes a little effort from both. What flows in silently between duals never flowed between these two in the first place.
Avoiding overwork by small stratagems, claiming "the right of the weak", speaking of trivial sacrifices as martyrdom. "I mopped the floor and washed the dishes too, and that person..."
The ending is quiet. Parting as indifferent strangers, and forgetting what happened.
They find contradictions with the same precision.
Quiet, and deep.
Shared interests.
Warmth comes from neither side.
They define fairness to suit themselves.
They speak of small sacrifices as martyrdom.
Both expect passionate warmth, both are disappointed by the other's coldness, and it becomes an emotionally dry, distant relationship, the record says.
Speaking of trivial sacrifices as martyrdom and seeing the other's self-protection as selfishness. The definition of fairness is set to suit oneself, the observation says.
It begins with shared interests, ends as indifferent strangers, and what happened is forgotten, the record says.
PROne thing for this relation
A relation that gets through from half a sentence, so experiences needing no explanation.
This pair is the identity relation, one of the sixteen. How the relation itself arises, and how to tell it from the others, is on the relation page.
INTJ on the left, INTJ on the right. Each shows where the eight elements sit; lines connect the same element. Where each line starts and ends decides what happens in this relation.
Lines connect the same element in the other person's structure. 1–2 (strong) 3 (role) 4 (vulnerable) 5–6 (wanted) 7–8 (capable, indifferent)
